Dirty dryer vents and duct cleaning adds a big risk for fire hazards. When dust and lint builds up, the risk of overheating increases. Here’s a guide how to clean your dryer vents or clean your ducts in Maddison properly.

  1. For your safety, unplug the dryer from the power outlet and turn the gas off. Pull the dryer or duct cleaning away from the wall after disconnecting the joints. Clean and vacuum the lint trap housing and lint filters. Using skinny hose will help you to reach each corner. Most dust and lint accumulates there as it passes through a load of laundry.
  2. After that use brush to clean each duct section. Pull off any duct covers so you can entirely clean the ducts. Clean all the way down of the cavity. Rotating motion is the easiest way to get clean results. Once you reach and finish cleaning the ducts, carefully pull the brush away. Vacuum all the lint that comes out of the ducts.
  3. It is important to place ducts precisely back into its place so that the air flows properly. Once it looks like they are in good shape, plug in the dryer and move the dryer back to its normal position. Check that lint screen is correctly placed.

In the end, you can run a short program to make sure it work properly in Maddison. If in any moment you are unsure what you are doing, contact a professional and ask for advice.
